Most people skip the temples, which is a mistake — the Mahavira has been in continuous use since about 783 CE and the carving is from the period before Rajasthani stonework went florid. Half an hour there sets up the afternoon properly.

Then the dunes: jeep out, camel in, sunset, and a Rajasthani dinner with music before the hour back to Jodhpur. It is a fuller day than the camel ride alone and not much longer.
