Duration
Half day (5 hours)
Where
Ponda, central Goa
Ideal for
Families, and anyone who cooks

Ponda's plantations are the reason Europe came here, and they are still working farms rather than exhibits. You walk the terraces with someone who farms them, and the pepper-and-areca intercropping alone is worth the visit if you have any interest in how food is grown.

Lunch is a proper Goan vegetarian thali served on banana leaf. We use a plantation that has not added an elephant ride, which narrows the field considerably.

Highlights

  • Pepper, nutmeg, cardamom and vanilla growing
  • Walked with someone who farms the terraces
  • Goan thali on banana leaf
  • A plantation with no elephant ride

Price on request

Experiences are quoted per group, so the price depends on your party size and the day you want.
